McCabe and Mrs. Miller to Release First LP

macabe and mrs millerSometimes the universe allows for artists to genre-jump, meeting in that cosmic mist that finds them birthing music far different from the bands they come from. Well, the stars have gathered in that famed alignment and formed a duo from two very different bands: Camper Van Beethoven bassist Victor Krummenacher and The Sippy Cups’ vocalist Alison Faith Levy have united to form McCabe & Mrs. Miller—an atmospheric, folksy touch of highway rock.

McCabe & Mrs. Miller’s origins stemmed from a longtime desire between the friends Krummenacher and Faith Levy to work together, and with both taking the reins at vocals—in that most classic American duet pairing—the product is a bluesy listen with that backdoor melancholy emitting from Krummenacher’s strums and Faith Levy’s alto.

The group’s first album Time for Leaving is set to be released March 9th, 2010, and was produced by Bruce Kaphan (American Music Club). You can catch a finger-snapping bluesy cut “Fare Thee Well,” here or have a gander at the duo’s first video, the title track off their forthcoming LP, “Time for Leaving,” here.

If you’re fixin’ to be hitting the music stores this March, loosen up them belt-buckles cuz McCabe and Mrs. Miller are a-comin’, and not to be missed.
