As the chillwave genre celebrates its first year of existence, one of its frontrunners, Neon Indian, led by Alan Palomo, is releasing a deluxe remastered edition of their debut album, Psychic Chasms, released last fall. This new little package, which will feature the bonus album Mind Ctrl: Psychic Chasms Possessed, will be available as a digital download on August 31st through FADER Label / Static Tongues. Those who prefer a physical CD (or vinyl) copy of the edition will have to wait until September 28th.

The bonus is a nine-track album composed of covers and remixes of Neon Indian’s acclaimed debut by figures of electronic music such as Anoraak, YACHT and even fellow chillwave band Toro Y Moi. Here is an example of what you will be able to find on it, with this cover of “Mind, Drips” by Jesse Woods.

Neon Indian will also traveling the roads of North America for a few dates throughout the rest of the summer but will be touring much more intensely in the fall, when they will share the stage with the Frenchies from Phoenix, the abstract hip hop artist Prefuse 73, indie rockers Miniature Tigers and the dancefloor kings of Chromeo.
