New Raveonettes – “Suicide”
An early release of The Raveonettes’ latest single, “Suicide,” shows off the bands electronica/doo-wop side as they continue to draw us in us with their addictive harmonies and synthy riffs. Newcomers to the band, be melodramatically warned: You are an easy target for the persuasive powers of “Suicide.”
“It’s a strange mixture of modern and old, dark and happy; it’s about rape, violence, lost love, suicide, not giving a shit about what other people think of you and most importantly being mad and angelic!” says the bands male half, Sune Rose Wagner.
“Suicide” can also brag one of the best-penned lyrics of 2009 so far: “New York’s the shit.” It’ll be out on The Raveonettes’ upcoming album, In and Out of Control, which drops October 6th.
