T-shirts To The Rescue!
The music industry is not letting up in the fight against illegal downloading. A venture with record labels like Warner Brother, Interscope and Dim Mak, The Music Tee hopes to bring fans back to buying music and changing the entire packaging of album sales.
The Music Tee is both a T-shirt and an album. Each of the shirts has the cover art of the album with the track listing on the back. The shirt also comes with a tag that has a URL that allows the buyer to download the music from TheMusicTee.com.
Started in 2009, The Music Tee has been making waves with the artists that have joined in on it like Kid Sister, Devandra Banhart and Monsters of Folk.
However for 2010, Music Tee released a “Vintage Collection” which will be feature different punk bands like Bad Religion, Bad Brains with more to come every month.
Though iTunes does have a monopoly on digital sales, The Music Tee just might be the step in the right direction to save the industry and return it to its former glory.
